December 1 to 31, 2022
Traffic violations recorded by the Balamban Police during the period totalled 479. The intensified security measures yielded a 2% decrease in the total TRI for the period than the previous month’s total TRI of 489 even with the influx of tourists and vacationists for the holidays. Most prominent and common among traffic violations is the non wearing of helmets which comprise 81% of the total number of violations.
Moreover, 25 Traffic Related Incidents (TRIs) took place within the period, 5 were self accidents, while 19 have been investigated for RIR to Damage to Property/Physical Injury and 1 RIR to Homicide.
PLTCOL GLENN T HIFE, OIC, Balamban MPS attributes the decrease in violations to traffic ordinances to the maximum implementation of crime prevention measures and 24/7 Police Visibility at local roads and public highways.
The Municipality of Balamban has maintained its low or zero-casualty rate in traffic incidents during the week.
Your Balamban Police will continue to intensify its drive on public safety by arresting traffic violators to reduce traffic related incidents in Balamban.
