Culmination Ceremony of the 31st National Children’s Month
Mayor’s SOCA : Over 63 Million Pesos to support Balamban Children’s Five Basic Rights
Nov. 30, 2023 – Balamban Mayor, Ace Stefan Binghay delivered his State of the Children’s Address ( SOCA) during the culmination ceremony of the 31st National Children’s Month.
Mayor Ace started his report by congratulating the Municipality of Balamban for being a consistent passer of the Child Friendly Local Government Audit (CFLGA) in the Province of Cebu. Of the 6 cities and 45 municipalities, only 29 passed the said audit this year.
“ I congratulate everyone who in one way or the other contributed to the success of giving our best in supporting the children of Balamban,” the mayor expressed.
The highlight of the report is the Php 63, 473, 276.67 budget allocation for fiscal year 2023 that the Local Government Unit of Balamban has invested for the programs, projects and activities to support the children’s five basic rights : Survival, Protection, Development, Participation, and Good Governance.
Mayor Ace assured that the Municipality of Balamban is committed to continually make the town a Child Friendly Community that implements policies, projects, and activities for the promotion and protection of children’s rights. “They ( children) will soon be our future leaders, so we need to provide them with a safe and better place.”
The theme of this year’s National Children’s Month is “Healthy, Nourished, Sheltered: Ensuring The Right to Life for All.”
The ceremony was attended by the Balamban Day Care Children and some elementary students. This is spearheaded by the office of the Municipal Social Welfare Development Office, Mr. Abel Tolero and was joined by MLGOO, Mrs Rojhelou Patac, SB Member Gemma Monong, DepEd I Supervisor, Mrs. Clavel Salinas, teachers, Day Care Workers and some LGU employees.
