SAULOG | Sinulog comes from the Cebuano word “sulog” which means “like water current movement” which depicts the forward-backward step of Sinulog dance, thus, the concept and inspiration of the Sinulog-based category.
Traditionally, the dance consists of two steps forward and one step backward, done to the rhythm of the drums, trumpets, and native gongs. At present, a Free Interpretation dance category is also being performed. A week before the Grand Parade, a Sinulog sa Kabataan is being held participated by local schools and barangays in the city and province.
